Ruphio is a nocturnal faun from the forest that borders the Winter River. He once ventured to the human side of the forest, but was not happy with what he saw and decided to return home. Many years later, however, he changed his mind after learning that the Winter River spirit, who had once saved him from a bear, was living with humans. Ruphio still dislikes many humans, particularly Dae-sung. He doesn't mind Charlie and Sakaki, gradually becoming friends with them. As a nocturnal spirit, he tends to sleep during the day and is sensitive to sunlight. He often hides his antlers, which are too wide to fit through most doorways.
